Bueno pues, otro verano más, he tenido el placer de asistir a Ilustratour.
Como cada año, una semana intensísima llena de emociones, actividades, aprendizaje y, sobre todo, mucha diversión.
Este año he tenido la inmensa suerte de participar el en taller de, ni más ni menos, ¡Oliver Jeffers! :_D
Aunque, como la mayoría de nosotros, conocía y admiraba a este ilustrador hace años, para mi ha sido una muy grata sorpresa ver la cantidad de cosas que nos ha enseñado y lo interesante de su teoría en las clases, así como los análisis de álbumes ilustrados, tanto suyos como de otros ilustradores, que hacíamos en clase. ¡He tomado un montón de apuntes! La verdad es que nos ha hecho esforzarnos bastante y nos ha puesto ejercicios y retos nada fáciles para aprender y buscar al contador de historias que todos llevamos dentro.
Estoy muy, muy contenta porque he vuelto con ideas y algo muy difícil para mi: dos proyectos de dos posibles historias para hacer dos cuentos. A ver si tengo tiempo, y cuajan poco a poco.
Como siempre, me he reencontrado con compañeros ilustradores, he conocido a nuevos compañeros estupendos y, tanto de unos como de otros, he aprendido mucho.
También he tenido la oportunidad de conocer el trabajo de algunos de los ilustradores que impartían otros talleres y a los que reconozco que no conocía, como mi gran descubrimiento: Chris Haughton, cuyo trabajo me ha fascinado (claro, es que además es diseñador gráfico hehehe...) y que además nos ha sorprendido a todos con acercamiento y simpatía. ¡Es una ricurez de chico! ^_^
Ilustratour suele ser agotador: no se para desde la mañana hasta la noche. Entre las jornadas: charlas, conferencias, exposiciones, presentaciones de libros, firmas, encuentros con editores... y luego los talleres en sí, los eventos que suele haber a la salida de éstos, más la fiestuqui que se organiza, yo cuando llego de nuevo a Madrid, estoy muerta... Pero, como a todo esto hay que sumarle que nos lo pasamos pipa y nos divertimos y reímos un montón, el cansancio de lleva muy bien y no es nada que no se cure con un fin de semana durmiendo al llegar a Madrid jajaja!

2- Collective exhibition in"Otros Charcos Session" (LAVA Museum, Valladolid).
3- The workshop begins! As usual in a privileged environment: Patio Herreriano's cloisters.
4- Oliver's lectures. We analyzed pictures books and their visual language. We all paid lot of attention! Our exercises dressing the wall :)
5- We had the big honour to see Oliver's sketches book! he showed his work process, notes, changes and work reviews... It was great! And he also present us for First time sketches and outlines of his next picture book. Only his editor has seen it so Oliver was very thoughtful to show it to us. But, obviously, I did't take photos from it! :-)
And a little showing of the sketch of one of my stories. I must thank so much Oliver for help, advises and great ideas he gave me so the story will work much better. Than you so much! :_D
6- Here mi ilustrators friens: Mariajo ilustrajo, Eugenia criado and me with the great teachers! Oliver Jeffers, Chris Haughton and David Wiesner. WOW
7- As I told you, we usually have lot of fun! And after workshop, we need to recover energies!
8- I've came back with two treasures: "Oh, no Lucas! (George)"- Chris Haughton and "The great paper caper"- Oliver Jeffers. Both of them signed for me! :)

2- Exposición colectiva en las Jornadas "Otros Charcos" (Museo LAVA de Valladolid).
3- Y ¡comienza el taller! Como siempre, en un entorno privilegiado: el claustro del Patio Herreriano de Valladolid.
4- Explicaciones de Oliver. Analizando libros y su lenguaje visual ¡Todos muy atentos! Nuestros ejercicios decorando la pared :)
5- Tuvimos el inmenso honor de que Oliver nos enseñase su libro de bocetos. Nos mostró sus procesos de trabajo, apuntes, estudios y cambios y revisiones en sus proyectos. ¡Fantástico! También nos enseñó, en absoluta primicia, los bocetos y maqueta del proyecto que tiene para su próxima publicación que aún sólo ha ha visto su editor y que tuvo la amabilidad de mostrarnos. Pero de eso, obviamente, no he hecho fotos!! :-)
Y una pequeña muestra del boceto de una de mis historias. Tengo que agradecer muchísimo a Oliver los consejos e ideas que me dio para que funcionase mucho mejor ¡gracias! :_D

Well, another summer, I had the pleasure of attending Ilustratour!
Like every year, a week full of intense emotions, activities, learning and, above all, lots of fun!
This year I had the great fortune to participate in Oliver Jeffers workshop : _D
Although, I knew and admired this illustrator for years, for me it was a welcome surprise to see the amount of things he has taught us and how interesting his theory classes were as well as analysis albums illustrated we did in class. I've taken a lot of notes!
The truth is that he made us work very hard with quite difficult exercises and challenges in order to learn and look for the storyteller we all have inside.
I'm very, very happy because I'm back with some ideas and something very difficult for me: two possible stories to make two pictures book. Let's see if I have time, and gradually I'll get it!
As usual, I met again with old friends illustrators, I've met great new illustrators friends too and I learned a lot from all of them.
I also had the opportunity to see the work of some of the illustrators who taught other workshops and I recognize that I did not know, so my great discovery was: Chris Haughton, whose work fascinated me (of course, he is also a graphic designer hehehe. ..). He also surprised us all with proximity and friendliness. He is a cute boy! ^ _ ^
Ilustratour is often exhausting: there is no stop from morning to night >"En otros charcos" session: talks, conferences, exhibitions, book presentations, signatures, meetings with editors... > workshops and events after workshops. And... the party that is organized every year, so... when I come back to Madrid, I'm dying... But we must add that we had very good time and we had lot of fun and laughed a lot, so we are taking all this fatigue very well and the best way to recover from fatigue is to spend all weekend sleeping. Lol!
